As we celebrate the 2025 world Engineering day for sustainable development, it's important to reflect on the role engineering plays in building a better future for our world.

This year's theme: Shaping a sustainable future through Engineering encapsulates the responsibility we, as Engineers, bear in ensuring that the future of our planet remains viable, equitable and sustainable. As we navigate the intricacies of sustainability, it's essential to recognize that our work as Engineers must transcend traditional practices. It must integrate environmental stewardship, social inclusivity, and economic viability into every project and solutions. The future will demand Engineers who are not only technically proficient but also deeply conscious of their impact on the environment and community they serve. In line with this, I encourage my fellow Engineers to focus on sustainable Engineering practices in every aspect of our work, whether designing renewable Energy Systems, creating efficient transportation network, or developing green technologies, we must always ask ourselves: How can this solution shape a more sustainable future?.

Let us Engineer the future with purpose, responsibility and sustainability at it's core.
